Bella Excellence in Tampa offers Restylane Lyft. This filler can be injected to enhance volume in the cheeks, naso-labial, and other areas. Because this filler has a hyaluronic acid base, it is injected deeper than other similar products.
WHAT IS RESTYLANE LYFT?
Restylane Lyft is hyaluronic acid. In this manner, the filler is similar to Juvederm Voluma, by Allergan, the makers of Botox. Because these fillers use a hyaluronic base, they can be reversed if desired. Many of these injections are paired with lidocaine as an active pain control agent. WHAT MAKES RESTYLANE LYFT SPECIAL?
Restylane Lyft can be injected to enhance volume in the cheeks, naso-labial, and other areas. Because this filler has a hyaluronic acid base, it is injected deeper than other similar products. In order to be effective, this dermal filler must be injected deep to provide the best cheek enhancement possible. To ensure patient comfort, Restylane Lyft is also combined with lidocaine to gently numb the area. Your injection specialist may also gently numb the area using ice prior to each injection and will check in with you periodically to ensure that you’re still comfortable.
What is Lidocaine?
Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that reduces the immediate feeling of pain and produce numbness.
What is Hyaluronic acid?
Restylane and Restylane Silk are both made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that holds moisture in the skin, adding youthful volume. While the traditional Restylane has been successfully used for lip augmentation for years, Restylane Silk is specifically formulated to create a better lip enhancement effect with improved results.
How Does Restylane Lyft Work?
Like other injectable fillers, this product is injected into the layers of the skin to provide an instant lift. As skin ages, it starts to sag because it is losing its volume. This dermal filler can help offset the effects of this sagging by restoring the natural volume the skin had in its youth. The key difference with this particular dermal filler is that it is injected deeper and uses bigger particles. This is why it can achieve a more subtle and natural look.
ANESTHESIA AVAILABLE DURING THE TREATMENT?
Local anesthetics are available before and during the cosmetic treatment. Many patients receive a topical anesthetic prior to the aesthetic treatment in order to numb the skin and reduce the overall pain level. It is also possible to have anesthetics placed in the injection itself. This means that pain relief is injected into the skin, which provides comprehensive pain relief. Lidocaine is the most common choice for pain relief. Anesthetic concerns should be discussed with a licensed injector prior to the procedure.
WHEN ARE RESULTS VISIBLE?
The results of this cosmetic treatment are visible immediately. The fillers do not need time to take effect. However, some patients may experience swelling or bruising that can obscure the immediate effects. Once these factors are out of the way, most people will see noticeable change right away. You can also help reduce the effects of swelling and bruising by talking with our staff about what to do and avoid before and after your procedure, such as avoiding aspirins and alcohol prior to your treatment.
RESTYLANE LYFT: HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
One of the best things about this aesthetic filler is that it can last a long time. Almost all patients who receive Restylane Lyft will still see noticeable results six months after the initial procedure. For most patients, the effects will last one year to 15 months. Ongoing treatment can lead to longer, more pronounced results for superior long term benefits. While these are normal results, it is important to remember that results will vary from patient to patient.
RESTYLANE LYFT SIDE EFFECTS
As with any drug, side effects do exist, and not every treatment is right for every person. Side effects after a Restylane Lyft treatment are usually minor and your injection specialist will discuss any possible difficulties during your initial consultation, while going over your medical history as well. Side effects from Restylane Lyft may include:
- Swelling
- Sensitivity to touch
- Itching
- Soreness
- Redness
- Bruising
- Headache
- Nausea
To lessen the chance of these risks, avoid high doses of vitamin E supplements, St. John’s Wort, aspirin (consult your primary doctor if you’re on aspirin therapy before stopping any prescribed regimen) and all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, before your treatment because they may raise the chances of bleeding and bruising. If you have any of the following conditions, be sure to bring them up to your injector prior to treatment:
- Acute allergic reactions
- Cold Sores
- Bleeding problems
- Hypersensitivity to lidocaine or other anesthetics
What Should I Do Before My Appointment?
You should stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements for 2 weeks prior to injection, to decrease your risk of bruising at injection site.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
After the procedure there is minimal recovery or downtime. You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. One treatment could smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year! However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results. Risks include bruising at site of injections.
